Found At Sea

Hey blog world, hey 2017 (feels appropriate to note as I totally skipped out on 2016!)... how's it going?!

Long time no see feels like a mega understatement, but I'm not gonna go into a big waffly explanation. The short and short is that I stopped reading blogs, and Even Artichokes Have Hearts has become an archive. For me, it's a wonderful slice of my life that I can spend hours reading through whenever the mood takes me, but hopefully also still gives some helpful sewing and DIY tips to anyone that happens to stumble across the site.

Despite all of that, it seemed natural to write a brief post to show off my latest venture - because if you can't show off on your own blog then where can you - and maybe if you're reading you can let me know what you think...

Found At Sea has been a long time coming, but finally started to take shape one wintery evening in December 2016. I've been sewing for over half of my life now (!) and will never tire of creating something from nothing. To paraphrase an old favourite Tumblr meme "Recyling takes one thing and turns it into another, which is basically magic". Pair that with my obsession for found objects and vintage treasures, and I was onto something.

Found At Sea showcases a collection of pieces that have been designed and hand sewn from my studio in Brighton, using vintage fabrics sourced from Europe. No two pieces will ever be the same, and each item is sewn and finished using one-off reclaimed fabrics, luxury cotton threads and metal hardware sourced from UK suppliers.

I'd love it if you could check out the shop HERE and like/share if you like what you see!

And if you're still reading, thanks for sticking around; let's catch up again soon okay :)
