We're Getting Married #5 - Screen Printing at Ink Spot Press

Pretty much as soon as J and I set a date for the wedding, our creative brains whirred into action about making the invitations. They were always going to be hand made, and they were always going to be a fun project for us to take on.
We came up with a few ideas, but actually, the final invites are super close to one of our very first designs.

The invites are made up of a few components and I'll be posting about them further down the line, but I wanted to write about the day we spent screen printing part of them coz it was so much fun!
I've always wanted to have a go at screen printing, and even though J tried it once at uni we both agreed it would be a really fun way to spend the day together, learn a new skill and make some awesome invites at the same time.

We went to Ink Spot Press in Brighton where we were lucky enough to have the workshop to ourselves for the day. Jane was amazing and walked through the whole process with us before leaving us to get on with our designs - after we'd mixed up the perfect mint green ink that is!
Without spoiling any details yet, our chosen card was tricky to work with, but we soon got into the swing of things and the invites mounted up slowly but steadily.

I absolutely loved the whole day and can't wait to find an excuse to have another go. There is something so intensely satisfying about being involved in every step of a process like that, and now I want to try and screen print everything :)
