Laura Marling

[Please excuse the terrible phone photo!]

Last night I finally went to see Laura Marling on her Short Movie tour. It's been seven years since I bought 'Alas I Cannot Swim' and have spent every subsequent album falling more and more in love with the music LM makes.
Through a series of unfortunate events, I have missed out on every single tour so far (& will never get over missing out on the LM/Secret Cinema shindig) but it's okay, coz this gig was so worth the wait.

I'm pretty sure the entire audience would agree with me when I say that the gig was hypnotic. I honestly didn't take my eyes off Laura the whole time, apart from to try and call my sister to listen in on 'Sophia'.
I'm sat here trying to articulate how I felt last night, but I don't feel I'm doing very well! All I can say is that LM captivated me wholly and it was so incredible to finally see her perform live. She is beautiful, raw, evocative and poetic, and her music will forever hold a very special place in my heart.
