Just a quick post from me today as I'm still laptop-less, but I wanted to talk about the fab evening I had last night and give anyone struggling for Mothers Day gifts a heads up on a great little shop in Brighton. I was kindly invited along to Present in the Laine to celebrate its first birthday and mingle with some lovely people surrounded by lovely things. It was great to meet Caroline and chat to her about the shop and how it's evolved in its first year, and of course it's always lovely to meet up with Brighton bloggers.
There are some gorgeous pieces in the shop and I was super excited to see candles from the Isle of Skye; I couldn't help picking one up for my mum as a little Mothers Day present as well as a pretty little mug!
If you're ever stuck for gift ideas then I'd definitely suggest a visit - there really is a perfect mix of homewares, jewellery and accessories and even though I gave in and bought myself a cheeky little trinket, I've still added at least a dozen other pieces to my wishlist (especially those jam jar lights, swoon!)
And if after a cheeky shopping trip you still want to add a touch of home-made to your mums day, then a hand made card is always a winner.
After making cards for everyone in my family ever since I was little, sometimes my mind draws a blank for ideas. Lucky for me, the girls at Super+Super posted this tutorial and I eyeballed it to come up with a (far less intricate) version for my mum.
I'm so excited to go and spend the day with my mum on Sunday now, and even more excited to give her these little treats. Thank you so much to Caroline for inviting me along last night; spending time with some Brighton favourites supporting local businesses really is one of my favourite past times :)
