Crafting: Patchwork Hexagon Chair

Do these hexagons seem familiar? In January I wrote a blog post about crafting hexagons, and here is the finished result.

After idly making a bunch and then worrying about what to do with them, this idea quite literally fell into my lap when we moved. The old tenants offered to leave this chair behind, and as I had just found myself the perfect desk, it was perfect timing.

By this point I had already made most of the hexagons needed, so I carried on sewing to create a big square and the whole piece came together super quickly.
Then it was simply a case of removing the seat from the chair frame, ripping the old cover off and stapling the new one on - easy peasy!

I love how bold the whole thing is; I did consider repainting the chair very briefly, but in a way I think that the whole mish mash of colours makes it!

P.S. Thank you for all of the sweet comments on my home snippets post, you're a lovely bunch!

  4. This is a fantastic idea! I've recently started patchworking and wondered what I'd grow the hexagons in. Love the blue paint work too. :) Leanne @knitmeacake x
