baking with tala: gingerbread cookies

a few weeks ago i received an email asking if i'd like to test out some tala goodies, and as i (quite embarrassingly) own most of their bakeware, i was v.excited to try out these gingerbread cookie cutters.
i think the design of tala products are just right; classic but not overly twee if that makes sense. as i expected, the cutters are really good quality, and the tin also comes with a piping bag for the decorating.

i decided to opt for the classic gingerbread recipe on the back of the tin, and set to work with j on sunday afternoon.
every memory i have of making a mess whilst baking as a child came back to me - there is no way around it - these babies create chaos. maybe we just need to work on our finesse, but there was flour everywhere!

the icing proved to be even more fun- i'll leave it to you to guess which one are mine and which are j's, but let's just say we definitely need more practice :)

  1. That is a very cool tin! Baking is supposed to be messy! :)

  2. YOu guys did MUCH better than we did when we made them at Christmas for presents! Mine looked like a kid had done them! xxx

  3. That gingerbread family is adorable! Gingerbread always reminds me of autumn! :)

  4. They look SO good, your icing is way better than mine would be!

  5. Oh my gosh so cute ^_^ haven't made gingerbread men in ages, will need to get on this soon! xoxo

  6. Aw these are so cute. I love gingerbread x

  7. I once owned the most amazing ice-cream scoop by Tala, so I rate their products big-time. It's such a nice touch that they include the piping bag along with the cookie cutters - icing is the perfect finishing touch on those gorgeous little biscuits!

i love reading your comments (but hate the blogger commenting system!) so if you'd like to chat you can find me on twitter @skye_pennant :)
