stripes and spots

jumper: h&m shirt: white stuff (mega old) cord trousers: h&m rings: antique & h&m necklace: juliana cassandro via not another bill

i can't quite believe it's been a week since i last posted, time is going ridiculously fast at the moment!

please excuse how tired i look in these photos, working full time is starting to get the better of me. i started back at my art club volunteer job this afternoon and it felt totally bizarre opening my wardrobe and not having to put my work uniform on. i think i've forgotten how to dress myself?! or at least enjoy everything i own.

this week has marked a few exciting events though as on tuesday we had a home visit from the rspca who have now approved us to have a cat. because it can only be an indoor cat it might be a while til we hear anything, but i'm so excited to have the ball rolling and i cannot wait to have a furry friend around me.

i also got around to photographing one of my new little ideas for the shop. unfortunately since getting the internet back i have seen other blogs and pinterest etc. being swarmed with similar ideas, so i'm not really sure what to do?! i know that there is no such thing as an original idea anymore, but i was really excited about them and i'm just not sure if anyone would be interested now.

anyway, i'll post about it next week and see what people think. i also have another little diy i've been working on as well as being so so close to finishing my crochet blanket.
i'm so excited to be getting creative again :)

  1. So excited for you re getting a cat! Hopefully you won't be waiting too long. Our vets actually rang us up the other evening about an RSPCA bunny as we'd mentioned we wanted to get Sawyer a friend, so sad that we had to say no as we'd just bought Scout!

I have the same trouble with shop stuff. I think of a great idea then stumble across someone else doing the same thing and get quite disappointed! It's really difficult to come up with ideas as annoyingly everything has been done before especially if you come up and with an idea that you think is original only to find it's not. I'd love to see your new ideas! xx

P.S I believe I'm sitting here right now wearing the exact same jumper :)

it's so frustrating isn't it, but i really like one little idea so, i guess i'll just see how people respond!

  2. Oh I love your nail varnish! So cute!!

I get what you mean about forgetting how to dress yourself when you have to wear a uniform all week.. at my last job i was top to toe in black and grey 5 days a week and when it got to the weekend it was kind of like 'what the hell do I do now?'

Also, yay on getting a cat! They're the best things to have around the house ever!

I love the jumper, and I really hope it comes in white/cream as I am searching for one in a neutral colour as all mine are grey or mustard pretty much!

  4. I love how you've styled your necklace under your collar, such a cute detail. You've got yourself a new follower! Oh, and hope the cat search works out - I remember my RSPA home visit being really nerve-racking. I was about 10 and I took the whole thing so seriously and took notes of everything the lady said... I was an odd child.

  6. When I had to wear a uniform for school every day the weekends were either amazing or terrifying when it came to dressing myself - you do kind of forget! Hope you're having a lazy Sunday (if you get them off).
